“Cypress wands are associated with nobility. The great medieval wandmaker, Geraint Ollivander, wrote that he was always honoured to match a cypress wand, for he knew he was meeting a witch or wizard who would die a heroic death. Fortunately, in these less blood-thirsty times, the possessors of cypress wands are rarely called upon to lay down their lives, though doubtless many of them would do so if required. Wands of cypress find their soul mates among the brave, the bold and the self-sacrificing: those who are unafraid to confront the shadows in their own and others’ natures.”  -Pottermore Wiki

Personality :

Kind || Brave || Optimistic || Loyal || Insecure || Emotional || Selfless || Observant || Stubborn || Nervous || Active || Naive
Aimee is a sweet kind soul who tries to see everything as positive as can be and tries to get along with everyone, while probably staying wary of the occasional rude guy. While she may seem pretty much a happy go lucky girl, she does have a serious side and can be quite defensive but only if need be. She can also tend to be very emotional, to the point of being in tears if someone were to tell her a sad story and can be quite naïve, believing any story she’s been told, be it truth or lie. Aimee could be described as selfless as she happens to put others before herself to not be a burden, and loyal, never the type to betray her friends. Aimee is also very compassionate, being the first person to give comfort in times of sorrow. When faced with an obstacle, Aimee is brave and stubborn, ready to face trouble head on, never turning down, persevering until she’s succeeded. Not only that, but the girl is also pretty observant, keeping a keen eye out for her surroundings as well as the appearances and expressions of others. Lastly, Aimee is insecure about herself, finding her appearance to be unappealing, thus making her quite the active child. To put it plainly, she’s a real friend, full of energy and love, willing to do anything for those she cherishes.

History :

It was once upon a time that a ten year old witch by the name of Shanika had come to visit France as a child for a school field trip. The girl, having lived in Africa all her life, was extremely happy to enjoy the experience, until she was separated from her group. Frantic, she accidentally ran into a blonde teenager who had helped her when she had gotten separated from her group. She was smitten with him at first glance, and was quite surprised and shocked upon seeing him leap and latch onto buildings. Nevertheless, it was thanks to him scoping the area out that she was reunited with her class. With a last wave, the young man bolted down an alley way, only to disappear. Coming back home to Africa, it was several years later that woman's last living relative, her grandmother, passed away, and seeing no reason to stay in Kenya, she decided to leave. The young Kenyan had gotten a job in the muggle world as a travel agent. Having been assigned to visit France for business, it was on her last day there that Shanika had come across a café, and spotting through the window, the same male she had met all those years ago, and they met eyes. It was destiny of course.

Several years later, their daughter Aimee LeBlanc was born. The young girl was of course loved by both her parents and the rest of her family. Her father, aware of the possibility, didn’t mind in the least that his daughter would be either a witch or muggle, but her mother was different. She hoped so much for her daughter to be a witch, despite the Second Witch Trials that took place. Aimee though showed no magical ability at the age of two during the catastrophe, but her mother still feared for her. Yet, several more years later, Aimee still showed nothing and while her mother was disappointed year by year, she began to see it all as a good thing.

Unknowing of her mother’s heritage, Aimee had thought she was like any muggle child. At the age of six, the little girl was taking Piano lessons and was beginning to take interest in athletics, thanks to her father and his love of parkour. Her mother though, wouldn’t have this. Forbidden to perform such stunts like her father, Aimee continued her lessons and did fairly okay in Elementary school, but was insecure noticing that she was a little bigger than the other girls. Aimee hated this but that didn’t stop her, and she tried to be friendly. Albeit nervous, the young girl actually did make some friends at her school, but she did heard a couple insults here and there. She then decided to ask her father more about parkour and he was more than happy to talk. They’d practice together every weekend, when he would teach her all kinds of things. Once Aimee’s mother found out, she scolded her daughter and husband for such, but Aimee begged (with help from her father) to continue, explaining how she enjoyed doing these things with her ‘Papa’. With a reluctant mother, the young girl was happy that she agreed, and the two to have their fun, but to be careful and not pull any dangerous stunts.

Upon Aimee’s Eleventh birthday, it was then that once she attempted to blow out the candles of her cake that by accident she blew the cake itself, sending it to her father’s face opposite the table. The look of complete and utter happiness was evident on her mother’s face when she saw this, and Aimee couldn’t help but be surprised, shocked, and scared of what had just occurred. Her mother hadn’t intended to tell the child her true heritage until she was older, but now seemed like the perfect time. It was that day that Aimee had learned that she was a witch. The little girl had her questions of course, about whether or not that she was in any danger, and she was glad to say that she wasn’t. Aimee’s mother though made it a point that she could never tell or allow anyone to know what she was. Once Aimee promised, her mother didn’t hesitate to tell her all about the Wizarding world. With this, the girl felt like she was finally close to her mother.

It was only a month later in May that the girl had gotten her invitation to Hogwarts: School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Once the letter arrived, Aimee took it upon herself to ask her mother about Hogwarts, and was she glad to do so. That was when the child was told about the different houses, and upon finding out that her mother and her side of the family were mainly Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs, wasn’t so sure which of the houses she was to join. Her mother though bet that the girl would be put in Hufflepuff, and Aimee though was fine with that.

Once the day came to leave, on the platform, Aimee looked around excited that she was about to board the train to Hogwarts. Her mother, giving her one last hug, then waved to the little girl as she found herself a seat, waving and smiling back through the window at her mother. Once the train left the station, Aimee looked around, and spotting a girl with striking icy blue hair, the girl couldn’t help but nervously squeak a ‘hello’ to her. Seeing that the girl seemed nice enough, Aimee relaxed a bit, glad to say that Chaton was the first friend she had made there.

When it was time for the Sorting, Aimee was surely more than a little nervous, and when called, she took several shaky steps up front, sitting down to have the hat placed on her.

“Hm… Loyal, aren’t you? Maybe Hufflepuff, and yet, I sense valor and daring. GRYFFINDOR!”

With that, the hat announced her a Gryffindor, and with a nervous smile, she was then warmly welcomed by those who were in her house, including her friend Chaton. Aimee found that her house was full of kind people and glad at this, she was so very happy that she was put there. The first three years of being at Hogwarts were the best she ever had, and Aimee could only hope that her fourth year will be just as wonderful.

Looming stance on the Muggle World:
It’s simple. Aimee just wants peace. Since half of her family are muggles, she doesn’t view them negatively, believing that an evil heart can dwell in any soul. She had been made aware of the Second Witch Trials by her mother, and while this horrified her, she still holds no bad feelings towards muggles and (besides great dislike) actually feels pity for the ones who committed the murders, seeing that their vision was too clouded, while feeling the utmost grief and sympathy for the children who lost their lives. She truly believes that the two worlds can coexist peacefully.
